Who is the conference for?
At this event representatives of cruise lines operating in Norway meet, joined by shipping companies considering calling on Norwegian ports. A wide range of professionals convene to stay informed on Norwegian maritime safety regulations, preparedness- and rescue measures relevant to cruise traffic in Norwegian waters. The conference suits both leaders and employees. Key players from both private and public sectors will share their insight and experiences in both lectures and debates.
The event takes place in Ålesund, Norway every January. It is organized by the Norwegian Coastal Administration (NCA) and the Norwegian Maritime Authority (NMA), with Cruise Norway and AECO as important backers. In 2024, 125 participants from the national and international cruise industry attended, along with representatives from relevant Norwegian maritime authorities.
Who will contribute?
Leaders from both the Norwegian Coastal Administration, The Norwegian Maritime Authority, AECO and Cruise Norway will contribute to the program on this day. The same goes for the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre, the Customs Department, KLIA, DNV, Hurtigruta Expedition and Havila. The Shipowners' Association, Carnival Cruises and several ports will also contribute with their experiences and views.
Program highlights
The recurring themes are Safety - Preparedness - Sustainability - Green transition. You will have news on digital services useful to the cruise industry, including the NCA’s new digital tool MarU - a new model for estimating maritime emissions, and a new dedicated digital information guide specifically for the cruise industry. Updates on regulations from both the NCA and the NMA affecting cruises. Several ports will share their experiences and views. Thoughts and predictions on future cruise vessels will also be shared, in light of climate challenges and environmental requirements.
